1. I chose to do colored pencils for my project. This is because with this medium and can get the most precise strokes of color with the most vibrant color too. The green the fruit part of the kiwi to me was very important to be vibrant and bright to stand out, but the colored pencils also helped with keeping the fur look like each strand of fur in individual. This help with the realism and I really like how it came out. 2. I added a kiwi fruit and kiwi bird into one. I think this is a very original idea and a funny one. 3. My first step was to find reference images of kiwi fruits and kiwi birds to keep the realism. My second step was to sketch out a rough idea to understand how I will format the piece. And then I started on my final paper. The first thing I did on the final piece was a light outline of the bird. I then cut a circle in the end of the bird the represent the fruit. Once my outline was done I started to add green to the fruit part by layering and blending the colors over time. After the fruit part was done I started the fur. I did the fur by layering lots of lines of different colors until there was no white paper left to the sight. After the main parts I colored the beak, eye, and feet. Lastly I added a shadow below the bird for depth.
